Monday’s are definitely not usually this good. Things have gone very well today, we didn’t work out this morning, but I’m meeting Tyler at the gym when he gets out of work.
I noticed this morning that we had 5 bananas that were all getting very brown, so I decided today would be a very banana-y day. I’ve eaten two already!
For breakfast I had a 4 3/4 oz banana with 1/3 cup Cascadian Farms Cinnamon Raisin Granola, 1/2 oz chopped almonds, and skim milk. It was really delicious, and very sweet from the very ripe bananas. I drank a cup of Chai tea with my breakfast, I made it with a Chai tea tea bag, 1/4 cup skim millk, and splenda. I loved it and will be making it more often!

My face was feeling kind of icky today, so I decided to use a face mask before my shower. It felt amazing and I think it helped a little. Either way the long hot shower afterwards was exactly what I needed.
After my shower I drove to Grand Rapids to clean my brother’s condo/loft because it is being shown today. I’ll be cleaning it again tomorrow for him. Keep your fingers crossed, it would be really great if it sold!
After cleaning I headed back to Holland. I also stopped in Hudsonville at this big (well big for my part of Michigan) natural foods store Harvest Health Foods. I decided to pick up a couple of things which I’ll be reviewing in the next few days. I’m very excited!
When I got into Holland I stopped at Meijer for the bulk of the grocery trip which ended up taking a great deal of time. I got a few fun items that I’ll be using in the next two weeks, Nasoya Tofu, Cucumbers, Tahini, Chickpeas, Whole Wheat Pizza Crust, and Kashi Whole Wheat Frozen Waffles, as well as the more basic things: milk, eggs, fresh fruits and veggies (including a watermelon!), chicken deli meat for Tyler, frozen shrimp, Quaker Oats, and turkey pepperoni, yogurts, whole wheat pasta, and probably a few things I forgot to mention haha. I would have taken a picture, but the groceries had already been out for awhile and I just wanted to get them in the fridge quickly to avoid things going back too quickly.
I didn’t get home from the grocery store and done unloading groceries until about 3:45, so that was lunch time. I was pretty hungry, but I had gotten used to it by the time I finally got around to lunch. I wasn’t in the mood to cook so I threw together another random plate using a fun little ingredient I picked up at the natural food store which I will review shortly.
I had 2 servings of Triscuits, 1.5 oz Colby Jack cheese, 2 oz carrot sticks, 2 oz celery sticks, 2 Tbs. Nasoya Dijon Style, and a 4 3/4 oz banana with 1 Tbs. caramel sunday syrup on top.

And now a review of: Nasoya Dijon Style Vegi- Based Sandwich Spread *
*Check the link above for the nutrition information and ingredients

I got this Nasoya Dijon Style on sale at Harvest Health Foods for $1.99 because it is close to it’s expiration date. Hopefully that doesn’t/won’t affect the flavor. If it hadn’t been on sale, I definitely would have been deterred by the cost $6.09, yikes! I did see at Meijer that you can get the Original Nasoya Sandwich Spread for $2-3, much more reasonable. If you’re interested in purchasing I would do some price checks at different stores.
This was very delicious as a dip for carrots and celery, and even better with the Triscuits and cheese. I could really taste the dijon flavor which had a bit of a kick to it. I was expecting a sweeter flavor, like a Miracle Whip, but I identified another flavor that I couldn’t quite put my finger on, it was almost lemony. I thought it was pretty similar to a Mayonaise flavor just with dijon added.
I enjoyed this as a dip, but I think it would be better on a turkey and cheese sandwich, or on a veggie sandwich. I think this would also be delicious for making a tuna or salmon salad or mixed with a little rice vinegar and drizzled over a salad. It’s definitely very versatile, and I may just be convinced to try the regular Nasoya without the dijon.
On another fun note, I won a giveaway! I won some Sonny and Joe’s Hummus from Run to the Finish! I’m so excited, you can expect a full review of this, because I adore hummus!
Run to the Finish is now doing another giveaway for some Nut Butter! Check it out, maybe you’ll win!
I might go take a nap, or just relax with a little HGTV. See ya later!
