Airplane Food

Does anyone else remember when a flight over a few hours included a meal? I kinda miss those days…Oh well.

We woke up at 2 am Monday morning and drove to the D. We got through security really quick and had a while to wait to board our plane.

During the first 1.5 hour flight, I ate these little Biscoff biscotti that they handed out! They tasted pretty yummy.

We had a layover in Minneapolis where we stopped to get some breakfast. I picked out a Stonyfield Fat Free Vanilla Yogurt and a banana! I was so happy that the airport had some healthy breakfast choices. I topped my yogurt with a Kashi TLC Roasted Almond Crunch Granola Bar.

I shared the banana with Tyler so that he had a little fruit with his Mickey D’s.

During our next flight, we napped and watched Coach Carter. I can’t believe I hadn’t seen this movie before! It definitely brought me to tears a few times!

We also had a snack mid flight. I had two bags of peanuts and a Diet Sierra Mist.

When we got into Sacramento, we picked up our car and drove downtown to get some lunch. We decided to go to La Bonne Soupe Cafe in downtown Sacramento. Tyler and I each ordered the Ham, Turkey, Pastrami, and Swiss Cheese Sandwich. I also had an Honest T Pomegranate White Tea with lunch.

The sandwiches here were soo good, he used a sauce on the bread that absolutely pulled the whole thing together! I would definitely recommend eating here, although we had to wait at least a half hour before we could even order our sandwiches!

After lunch we drove and checked in at our hotel. We also napped for about 2 hours! Oops! When we woke up we planned out the rest of our day and then headed out to scout some neighborhoods. We drove some and wrote down apartment numbers, then we stopped at Trader Joe’s! We got groceries for the week (sad times, our hotel has no refrigerator!). We also got salads and some fresh fruit for dinner. I got the Asian Chicken Salad, and Tyler and I shared a container of berries (strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries).

After a few more hours of driving, we finally headed back to the hotel for bed, and for some dessert. I had this delish chocolate chip cookie from Trader Joe’s! I gave Tyler about a 1/4 of it.  The package came with 11 so you can bet I’ll be eating these a few more times!

Now that I’m getting caught up on posts, I’ll be able to post once a day! I hope you are all enjoying your week, its so great to be back on here!

These days I’m surprised flights even offer meals on overseas trips! They try to nickel and dime you for EVERYTHING!! Glad you guys made it there safe and sound :)

When we took a 5 hour flight to Aruba, I thought for sure a meal would be included. Nope! LOL! I will be prepared now. Good airport finds ;) Sometimes it can be a reall challenge to find something decent to eat in the airport!
