Tyler and I woke up around 6:30 this morning. We were still pretty tired, but after some blogging and iPhoning we decided to be productive. Our hotel is super close to the American River Recreation Trail so we drove to a trail head and did a 39 minute run with an 8 minute walk thrown in. It was a slow run, and I’m not sure how far we actually went, but it was a good run for right after a plane ride and long day.

After our run we came back and ate breakfast, I had a Trader Joe’s Cranberry Mango Blueberry Bran Muffin with some Trader Joe’s Organic Strawberry Fruit Spread.

After breakfast we got cleaned up and drove to Midtown Sacramento to look at apartments. We walked around a bit and also drove up and down roads writing down the addresses of places for rent. We stopped at a realty office to ask for advice, unfortunately they did not list rentals, but they did give us some quick tips about which places are best to live.

We were pretty hungry by this time and decided, since we had some time on our parking meter, to eat lunch. We decided on Centro Cocina Mexicana.

The dishes were pretty expensive (about $10 + for a lunch entree). We decided to split an entree and an appetizer.

We got a cheese quesadilla for the appetizer. It was very good, the black beans in it were mild and not overpowering (neither Tyler or I are big bean fans).

For an entree we ordered one that came with one shrimp taco and one chicken burrito, and beans and rice.

This was the most delicious chicken burrito Tyler or I had ever eaten! The seasonings were amazing! The shrimp taco was just as good! It had a lime flavor and was so good! I was even surprised how good the refried black beans and rice were! We ate all of it!

After lunch we drove to the law school campus to check with the housing people there. We got a few really good recommendations including a man who rents a carriage house that is pretty newly remodeled. We are hopefully going to go see it tomorrow! It’s one bedroom and really reasonably priced! I’m very excited!

After our stop at campus we drove to the Pocket/Greenhaven area and toured apartments at three different complexes. It seemed that the apartments improved with each visit. The last one had nicer appliances and a good rate, it’s our top choice for that area now.

We were all apartment hunted out by then so we drove back to the hotel and made some dinner.

TJ’s Peanut Butter and Organic Strawberry Fruit Spread on wheat bread with TJ’s yellow corn chips and peach salsa. Did I mention that I LOVE TJ’s?

Dessert is some Spree that I’m slowly munching on. Yum yum yum!

I think we’re heading out to look at some more areas, then probably heading to bed. Tomorrow will be another jam packed day of apartment hunting! I hope the meeting with the private landlord goes well, from the pictures he sent me, the carriage house is beautiful!

Spree!! The orange ones were my favorite – I used to eat those all the time when I was in high school ;)

Glad the apartment hunting seems to be going well! I hope your meeting today goes wonderfully!
