I’m sad that the weekend is almost over. It’s been so nice having a break from classes.

I had a very relaxing night last night watching 2 episodes of Weeds. I LOVE this show and can’t wait to watch more!

This morning I got dressed and out of the house and to the American River Trail by about 8:15. I brought 3 of the Strawberry Clif blocks with me for mid run energy.

I ran my 7 miles in 1 hr and 5:30 minutes. Last week I ran 6.75 miles in 1 hr and 6 minutes! I’m super proud of myself! My miles were around 9 minutes and 20 seconds (some were shorter, my last was 9:40…I was tired).

The first 3.5 were pretty good. The trail was pretty busy and it was hard going back and forth between the dirt shoulder and pavement for 7 miles. The last 2 miles dragged on a bit, and I had to dodge some rather impolite walkers (weren’t being considerate of others using the trail…shame on them), which made it worse. But I pushed through and felt so darn good as a result!

Around mile 3.75 I got out my Clif Blocks and tried to eat them. I had to stop at a water fountain to get them down (I had planned ahead because I was afraid this might happen, and ate my blocks right near a fountain). Even with the water, I still had Clif Block sticking to my teeth and the roof of my mouth…no smiles. So if anyone has any Clif Block consumtion advice I would really appreciate it!

After my run I came home and showered and then made myself a smoothie using this Vega protein powder, 1 cup soymilk, some ice cubes, and 3 oz of strawberries.

This was my first “green monster”. The powder had all kinds of veggie protein in it and was definitely a shade of green as was my smoothie. I was not impressed. I didn’t mind the flavor, which was very protein powdery, but the texture of the smoothie was very off. I also felt extremely full for about 3-4 hours, which was not what I was aiming for at all. I definitely won’t ever use this stuff again, mostly because of how it made my stomach feel.

Anywho, I worked on some homework, napped, watched some Friends and finally around 2pm convinced myself to eat something. I had 4 oz of carrot sticks, 2.5 servings of Sabra’s Red Pepper Hummus, and a juicy delicious peach.

A little later I had the last two Urban Oven Asiago Cheese Crackers…sad times!

I spent most of the afternoon doing homework. How exciting I know! But I got a lot done and am way ahead of where I was last week homework wise! Yay!

Dinner was as planned on my meal plan, peanutty noodles! I made them with 3 oz rice noodles, 5 oz sliced green and red peppers, onions, and carrots, 1/2 package of tofu, 1/2 Tbs. canola oil, and 3 Tbs. TJ’s Peanut Satay Sauce!

Look at all those veggies!

Look at all those veggies!

Twas an AMAZING DINNER! And I used my Japanese chopsticks again. I wish Tyler were here to use his blue ones with me : (

Dessert was a No Pudge Brownie and 1.5 servings Mint Chocolate Chip Stonyfield FroYo. I <3 dessert.

I hope you all had a relaxing weekend and are looking forward to the week ahead. Just think Labor Day Weekend is only a week away now, which means a day off for a lot of us! I can’t wait!

I have a feeling those shot blocks would drive me crazy – I hate when things get stuck to my teeth! Way to go with the run!! That’s awesome :)

Haha those shotblocks remind me of juji fruits! They stick to your teeth like cuhrazy! Your stir fry looks super good :) I might dabble with that TJs peanut sauce the next time I’m there! But congrats on the great run!!

I get so frustrated when walkers take up the entire sidewalk, or walk down the middle… even when I am not running! People are so often in their own little world…

You gotta try some spinach in your green monster. It is much better! Also, banana and peanut butter are good additions. Give it another go, because when you get the right combo, it is amazing!
