I also cleaned the shower, did three loads of laundry (which all need to be folded now – sad), clipped coupons, and generally straightened up the apartment and my desk upstairs.
I slept in a little this morning and then came downstairs and made tea and got the newspaper from outside. I had some Green Tea with a little bit of honey.

I drank my tea whilst reading the local Sunday newspaper, the Sacramento Bee. There was a very interesting article about the California state parks. California is in a huge budget crisis right now, and unfortunately there is not enough funding for state parks. As you can see in this article , they considered closing some parks altogether, but decided instead to increase weekday and seasonal closures and decrease maintenance budgets for all parks. Crime rates in parks have already been increasing and they are worried that those numbers will continue to go up with the decreased funding. I’m pretty saddened by this report…I hate to think that parks will become overrun with crime and vandalized, because I know it will deter many people from using them, myself included. Who wants to go hiking when there is a risk that you might be shot because you accidentally happened upon a place where someone is growing illegal substances in the middle of the forest (it has happened here before).
Quite a depressing, but interesting story. Feel free to leave your opinions about the topic.
I ate some grapes for breakfast while I checked my email and google reader (I wasn’t very hungry this morning).

After that I went and showered and then cleaned the shower. Don’t you love a good clean shower? I certainly do!
I ate lunch around noon. I made a taco salad with lettuce, mushrooms, red peppers, cucumber, .5 oz Food Should Taste Good Jalapeno Tortilla Chips, 3 Tbs. TJ’s Chipotle Salsa, and 1 oz shredded cheese. It was pretty tasty!

I also had some more Harry and David Neapolitan Malted Milk Balls for dessert.

I spent most of the afternoon doing homework and taking the occasional break to do laundry or have a snack. I had a Clif Kid Tropical Twisted Fruit, a serving of Kashi’s TLC Cheddar Crackers, and some jasmine tea with honey.

I stopped homework to Skype with Tyler for a little while and then for dinner. I had a Boca Vegan Veggie Burger on a Thin with ketchup, mustard, .5 oz melted colby jack cheese, and some carrot sticks with Tribe Chipotle Hummus on the side.

I’m done with homework for the night and am going to settle in for a quick episode of Weeds Season 2 and dessert: the last half of my Alternative Baking Co. Colossal Chocolate Chip Cookie and three more malted milk balls, and some Celestial Seasonings Sleepy Time Tea.
