This week has been taxing to say the least, and I still have one more day left.
In addition to my regular workload, I had an additional make-up class Tuesday (for my hardest class), a research assignment due Tuesday, a practice exam today, and an outline of a Contracts practice exam due today.
I still have another class tomorrow, as well as a research assignment due, and an oral argument to attend, so this will be a short “highlights post”.
Saturday:
Tyler brought me some birthday presents from his mom and dad.

Isn’t the candle holder cute! The candle is Cinnamon Sugar scented and it smells yummy just sitting on the table!
Tyler and I got a late lunch at Elephant Bar. I ordered the Wok Fired Chicken and Lettuce Wraps, Tyler ordered Market Cobb Salad, and we shared some Garlic Bread (I had half a piece).

The food at Elephant Bar was really good. The portions were HUGE (elephant size perhaps), so the Chicken and Lettuce Wrap appetizer was a good size for a full meal. Our server was very nice and very patient. I was most impressed with the fact that they include all of their nutrition information in the back of the menu! This was perfect for me because it allowed me to pick a meal that was the size that I wanted. The nutrition information is also on the website, which makes it easy to plan ahead.
We went to Elephant Bar after a long day of shopping. I tried on about 40 pairs of jeans and ended up buying 2 at Nordstom. They’re very cute, and I was able to get them hemmed that day at the store and pick them up on Sunday. Hemming is very necessary because I’m 5’5″ and designer jeans are just not “designed” for my height.
Sunday:
The definite highlight of the day was a 40 minute Galloway method run with Tyler! We did a run for 3 mins/walk for 2 mins. method and went for 40 minutes, covering about 3.5 miles. It was so nice to have a running buddy!
Sunday’s dinner was a pasta masterpiece! I combined whole wheat pasta with TJ’s marinara sauce, and shrimp, with freshly grated parmigiana reggiano on top.

We enjoyed some TJ’s Apple Cider with dinner – don’t you just love fall!

Monday:
I started off the day with a 6.5 mile run in 57:20. It was a good run.
Tyler’s friend Nick from high school lives in CA fighting fires for part of the year. He just finished up the season and is headed back to MI, but he stopped in Sacramento to spent part of the day with Tyler. Monday Night Football was a priority, so we all went to a sports bar down the street from the apartment (we walked!). We shared a Chicken Club Pizza and some Bleu Cheese Fries.

My stomach is definitely not used to greasy sports bar food, and I felt it the next day, but it was fun to get to hang out and watch football with the guys for a little while. The menu had some other options on it that would have been better choices for me, but sometimes you just can’t stress out about what you eat. Enjoying yourself and relaxing is more important! And as Tyler reminded me the next day, one off day doesn’t ruin anything.
Tuesday:
I treated the boys with some Holey Donuts Jumbo Reduced Fat Cinnamon Rolls for breakfast. They both enjoyed them, and I was more than happy to share my free samples!

I got called on in the make-up class on Tuesday. It was a little brutal considering I sat through 5.5 hours of class that day! Talk about luck, I would get called on during the only two weeks that Tyler is here. At least I was prepared!
Wednesday:
Quesadillas were on the menu for dinner. I made my quesadilla using sauteed onions and peppers, cheddar cheese, hot sauce, and a whole wheat tortilla, and enjoyed it with some TJ’s tortilla chips and corn salsa and some extra veggies.

Tyler’s had some grilled chicken in it. I forgot how much I enjoyed quesadillas until I ate this one – I’ll definitely be making this dinner more often.
Today:
Lunch today was Chobani 0% Pomegranate Greek Yogurt with a peach, Annie’s Cheddar Bunnies, and a Chocolate Chip Clif Z Bar.

I was super excited to try this flavor of Chobani. I tried it plain so that I could really taste the flavor and get the full effect. The flavor definitely could have been more prominent, the only pomegranate-y bites were the ones that contained the individual pomegranate seeds. The seeds however were a fun addition to the yogurt, it was kind of a like a surprise every time I crunched on one in my mouth!
There were all kinds of Halloween treats around campus today, and I decided to partake : ) I had a white chocolate macadamia nut cookie, some candy corn, and a number of different miniature Halloween candies. Isn’t Halloween fun?
Tomorrow I should be back to regular posting – or at least I’ll try. If not don’t hate me, I’m just taking advantage of the time I have with Tyler while he is here!
Hope you’re having a great week, and have a FANTABULOUS FRIDAY!

getting jeans is by far an experience I really do NOT look forward too! I always feel bad the sales people keep running back and forth brining me lots of pairs because obv nothing fits the right way! I think 1 time in my whole life I have bought the first pair I tried one!

I really like it when menus have nutritional info also. I wonder how the people in NYC like it, since it is required by law there!
