And with Tyler, but I would hope you already knew that : )
I decided to take my new Brooks Adrenaline 9s for their first run today. Look how happy my feet look in them!

I ran 5.5 miles in 46:55 – just over 8.5 minute miles! The most amazing part about the run was definitely the lack of pain! Since my half marathon, almost every run I have gone on has left me very very sore, specifically in my knees and quads. Today, I felt great right after, and my legs still feel good now, after lots of sitting down, etc. Having properly fitted shoes that are replaced once they are past their prime is so important! This Runner’s World Article suggests replacing shoes between 300 and 500 miles. I’ve heard a variety of numbers – but 300 miles seems to be a pretty popular suggestion.
I’ve decided to keep track of the miles I put on these shoes, and keep track for the sake of being proud of myself. I’m curious to see how many miles my shoes go before they need to be retired. I can usually tell pretty accurately when my shoes need to go – I’m just not always as timely as I should be about replacing them. Oops!
I had good eats today, in addition to my good run – it was just a good day overall : )
Breakfast was 2 Kashi Go Lean Waffles with 1 Tbs. Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Butter.

I had to grab my lunch as I was running out the door so I threw a Chobani Peach 0% Greek Yogurt in my purse as well as a Luna White Chocolate Macadamia Bar.

This Peach Chobani was another one of my freebies that they sent me to sample – isn’t Chobani generous?! I really have enjoyed all of the flavors that I’ve tried so far. I like that some have more subtle flavors than others, and I especially like the Pineapple flavor. If you haven’t tried Chobani Greek Yogurt yet, I would definitely recommend it, especially as a way to ease into Greek Yogurt from regular yogurt or from flavored yogurts to plain yogurt – they offer so many great flavors, but the base yogurt in the flavored ones isn’t super sweet and still has the tartness that I love about plain yogurt. And as I mentioned yesterday they have a coupon on their website right now (I believe for a free yogurt – I haven’t printed it out yet since I still have some in my fridge) so you have no excuse not to try it!
Classes went very well today. I was called on for the first time (for more than just one question) in my Torts class today! Just so you understand why this is such a big deal – our professors have the option to either lower our grade or boost our grade depending on our in-class performance, so it is essential that you be able to demonstrate when you are called on that you have read the material and have a good understanding of it. And this is law school, and it is pretty dang competitive, so you don’t want to look like an idiot in a class full of 80 other people.
It was a little ironic because a lot of people had turned in UP slips (Unprepared Slips – we usually get 2 slips per semester to use) because the reading assignment was so long. I had finished the assignment and done a pretty good job of briefing the cases so I wasn’t about to sell myself short. The professor asked me around 10 different questions about the case and I felt like a did a good job answering most of them – there were 2 that I got hung up on, but overall I feel really good about my understanding of the cases and my “performance” in class.
When I got home from class around 4:30 I snacked on another baby size apple.

Then around 5 I ate 1.5 servings of Annie’s Cheddar Bunnies. Who wants to eat Goldfish when you can eat Bunnies – hmmm that does sound odd now that I read it, oh well.

Dinner tonight was a Boca veggie burger with cheddar cheese on a Thin with lettuce, ketchup, and mustard, Glazed Carrots from yesterday and some steamed broccoli with a little melted cheddar cheese. I felt like I was lacking in the veggie department so I made up for it at dinner.

Dessert was TJ’s Chocolatey Cats and TJ’s dark chocolate mints (what is up with me and eating animal shaped foods today – weird).

I spent the evening watching last week’s episode of the Biggest Loser – what a dramatic episode! I also did some homework for tomorrow and some that is due Tuesday – what I’m ahead of the game? Oh yea!
Now I’m off to bed, goal is to be there by 11:15. Night folks, and have a great Thursday!

I really need to find myself some new good shoes! Pronto!
Great job in class! That’s awesome that you were prepared by doing the super long reading.
I am worried about your sore body! I hope you are not pushing it too hard after the half! (I only say this because I don’t want the same thing to happen to you that happened to me) I am making sure to keep track of the mileage on mine too. It’s easy to loose track!
Did you switch your feed to summary view from full text?
i love brooks too! i need to get a new pair as well, mine are worn through.

Good shoes so make the difference. This morning I unexpectedly was at home, so I needed to run in my old shoes with 0 support. It was a but painful for 7.5 miles
