Tyler arrives tomorrow!

I woke up at 7 to get in some strength training before class.

I did 3 sets of the following (first 2 sets with 5 lb weights, third set with 3 lb weights)

  • 15 Bicep Curls
  • 15 Overhead Presses
  • 15 Tricep Kickbacks (per arm)
  • 15 Bent Rows
  • 10 Dead Lifts
  • 15 Backward Leg Extensions (per leg)
  • 15 “Fire Hydrants” (per leg)
  • 15 Leg Lifts (per leg)

I still had no time for breakfast so I grabbed a Banana Nut Odwalla Bar on my way out the door.

Lunch was another lavash wrap (the lavash is the actual bread part of the wrap) with Laughing Cow, Sabra’s Red Pepper Hummus, Mustard, Romaine, Mushrooms, and Green Peppers.

I also brought some Annie’s Cheddar Bunnies and a Clif Kid Twisted Fruit.

I was feeling a little stressed between classes and turned to some Spree for comfort – oops.

When I got home from class I snacked on some Back To Nature Stone Ground Wheat Crackers with Laughing Cow Cheese, and later some Alexia Cheddar Waffle Fries.

Dinner was leftover mushroom, walnut, and parmesan polenta, with some steamed broccoli for some extra veggie power!

Dessert was the rest of the package of Spree plus some TJ’s chocolatey cats.

I’m trying not to get too bent out of shape about my dessert sit./snacking sit. as of late, but I’m feeling a little down on myself about it. I know I’ve been doing a lot of emotional eating and just eating out of boredom and that is what is most upsetting – which can be a bit of a vicious cycle.

What do you do when you know you are eating because of emotions or eating out of boredom?

Are there certain foods that you don’t keep around because you know you will tend to eat them it those situations?

As long and tiring as today was, I’m very excited to get to see Tyler tomorrow! I pick him up at the airport super late. I’m sure he’ll be worn out when he gets here from a full day of work plus 6+ hours of flying. It’ll be almost 3 am his time when he gets in tomorrow – poor guy!

Well I need to hit the sack, so I can get up and run in the morning – hope everyone has a fantastic Friday!

Yay have fun tomorrow with Tyler!! Don’t worry about the sweets… sometimes everyone needs a little something to keep them sane– trust me I have the same problem!

I am so excited Tyler is coming! You are going to have so much fun showing him all of the places you’ve discovered!

Sometimes, when I catch myself being “snacky” I am able to stop and ask myself “What do I really need?” I am stressed? Am I bored? It’s really hard for me to stop, once I get started though. Sometimes I am able to keep trigger foods in the house, and sometimes I am not. It’s so up and down for me! I thought the book Life is Hard, Food is Easy (http://www.amazon.com/Life-Hard-Food-Easy-Emotional/dp/0895261456) was really good at helping me understand my cravings. Good luck! :)

A good walk or baking project takes away the boredom for me.
    Have fun with Tyler!

Chewy Spree’s remind me of my freshman year in HS – I would often have those as lunch desserts ;)

Don’t worry too much about the dessert eating! Everyone does it from time to time. The issue is when it continues in a cycle, like you said, so I think you’ll be alright! Have fun reuniting with Tyler!

Yay, have fun with Tyler!! In answer to your question, I don’t do too much emotional eating, but I will do the mindless eating thing sometimes. I try not to keep “snacky” foods in the house, actually I never usually have anything like crackers or such (although I’ve been craving some crackers lately!) in my cupboards. But just like you said, don’t stress about it too much. My eating will go in waves of eating really clean, and indulging a bit. I think it pretty much evens out in the end.
