Almost Turkey Day

Today was very productive.

My dad will be super proud, because the first thing I did was take my car for a long overdue oil change – I’m sorry car, I promise to be nicer to you.

I ate my breakfast in the car so I could get to the dealership by 9. I had a Kashi TLC Peanut Butter Granola Bar and an apple.

After my oil change I drove to school (it just happened to be between my apartment and the dealership). I went to the gym for an hour long workout with 20 minutes on the elliptical, 22 minutes on the treadmill, and 22 minutes on the recumbent bike.

After my workout, I picked up my race packet at REI, then headed home for lunch.

I had a nice little package waiting for me, my Stonyfield goods from Janetha’s giveaway!

Sideways picture – why now?

Lunch was leftover Annie’s Bunny Pasta and Yummy Cheese, and leftover Brûléed Mashed Sweet Potatoes.

I also ate a few too many Chocolate Newman-O’s.

It’s carbo loading right?

My afternoon snack was half a bag of popcorn.

I ran errands a little later. While I was in the store complex at Trader Joe’s a super cute store drew me in.

I couldn’t resist getting myself this necklace.

We’ll call it my reward for the 10k tomorrow. I didn’t tell Tyler yet that I bought it, hopefully he won’t be mad if he reads this.

Dinner was a veggie burger with ketchup, Brûléed Mashed Sweet Potatoes, and broccoli.

I did the Whittle My Middle Challenge while watching The Biggest Loser.

Here’s the breakdown:

  • Plank with Straight Arms: 1:45 min
  • Side Plank with Straight Arms:  1:00 min each side
  • Bridge: 2:00 min
  • Bridge with One Leg Up: 1:00 min per leg
  • Plank with Bent Arms: 1:00 min

I ate my dessert while watching Glee. I had the rest of the bag of popcorn from the afternoon and Dark Chocolate Covered Blueberries.

In preparation for my race tomorrow I was trying to figure out the time for the last 10k I ran (in 2006 haha). When I ran the 10k Run Thru The Rapids in Grand Rapids, MI in 2006, I finished in 57:30.

I would really like to finish the Run to Feed the Hungry 10k in under 55 minutes, which may be a challenge, because it is a super busy race, but I’m still aiming for it.

Now I’m going to go ready some of my race stuff, and then it’s bed time!

I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving tomorrow, and I wish you all safe travels and delicious food!
