I woke up and had Vanilla Chobani and Nature’s Path Pumpkin Flax Plus Granola for breakfast.

While I ate breakfast and read for my Friday Civil Procedure class I got to g-chat with my bestie and Maid of Honor Elise. I miss her A LOT!
Class was interesting. About half the class turned in Unprepared Slips because they either hadn’t done the reading or didn’t want to be called on. Our professor was not very happy about it, but surprisingly he didn’t he wasn’t extra hard on us for it.
After class Megan, Julia, and I all headed to the gym. We had to stop at the Career Development Office first and I grabbed a handful of candy oops. I ate two Tootsie Rolls walking to the gym because I needed a little energy boost.
I worked out for 1:17 total. I started with 45 minutes on the elliptical (at levels 5, 7, and 10), and then did another 30 minutes running on the treadmill mostly at 7 and 7.5 mph. I did 3.5 miles in 30 minutes, with a 2 minute cooldown.
When I got home I was going to do my Whittle My Middle challenge, but I was short on time, so I skipped it. Instead, I showered, and straightened up the whole apartment. It feels so much cleaner and more sane in here now! I also ate the rest of the Tootsie Rolls and Tootsie Pop that I got from the CDO.

I had a quick lunch and an afternoon snack later:
Pita with melted cheddar cheese, Annie’s Cheddar Bunnies, and a Steaz Iced Tea.

I really wanted to try these Trader Joe’s Dark Chocolate Covered Blueberries that Ethanie sent me, so I had a serving of them as well.

These were really good! I love chocolate covered fruit, and these were no exception. The dark chocolate was great, and the blueberries weren’t too tart and went well with the dark chocolate.
I peeled 4 pounds of sweet potatoes while watching a little TV, then Julia came over at 5 to make a dessert to bring to Thanksgiving at Melrose.
Julia and I teamed up on the Brûléed Mashed Sweet Potatoes (which I made with 2% milk rather than whole milk). Julia also made some Ghiradelli Brownies.
Once everything was done baking/broiling, we drove to Megan’s.
Thanksgiving at Melrose was a progressive dinner. Megan and her friends refer to their apartment complex as Melrose (you kind of have to see it for it to make sense), so it was Thanksgiving at Melrose! We started off with cocktails and appetizers at Megan’s friend Dom’s apartment.
Megan and her brother John made some great Brie appetizers including baked Brie (Brie and Apricot Preserves wrapped in croissant dough and baked).

I started off with a Malibu Pineapple and a plate of the different appetizers.

I had another Malibu Pineapple and a few more crackers with brie later.
The baked Brie was really good. I’ll definitely be sharing that recipe idea with my family!
After cocktails and appetizers we headed to Megan’s friend Caroline’s apartment for Thanksgiving dinner. Caroline had set the table with pumpkins and squash for centerpieces and name tags for everyone, it was super cute!
There was a full Thanksgiving dinner complete with turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, sweet potatoes, spinach salad, corn bread muffins, cranberry sauce, asparagus and portabella mushrooms, and greenbeans.

I put a little bit of every thing on my plate.
The Brûléed Mashed Sweet Potatoes were a success, they were just a little bit sweet from the candied brown sugar topping, and so creamy. I’ll definitely be making them again!
The dishes everyone made were fantastic! Dom made the turkey, and he did a great job, it was really moist, and had a great flavor!
Along with my dinner, I also had a few glasses of Chardonnay. I love dinner parties.
After lots of chatting and joking around, we had dessert. I was pretty full, but I couldn’t resist trying a Ghiradelli brownie with vanilla ice cream.

Julia and I managed to bake these just the right amount (at least for us haha) they were just slightly underbaked so they were kind of messy but tasted so good!
It was a lot of fun to just sit around and chat and drink wine.

And to practice balancing gourds on our head?

Clearly, we had a good time!
There were tons of leftovers, but I managed to leave some sweet potatoes with Megan and the pan of brownies with Dom (I do NOT need any more sweets sitting around my apartment yikes!)
Julia and I drove back to my apartment around 11, then Julia drove home. I watched the lastest episode of the Office and then hit the sack.
I slept in this morning until 9 (that’s late for me lol). I called Tyler when I woke up, because I hadn’t heard from him at all last night. He had gone out with friends last night. I was glad he wasn’t stuck at home by himself after such a long and rough week at work, while I was out with friends.
Breakfast this morning was a bowl of Barbara’s Shredded Spoonfuls, and 365 High Fiber Cereal with unsweetened soymilk.

I’m taking the day off today from vigorous exercise. I may go for a walk later if the weather isn’t too cruddy, and I’ll be doing the Whittle My Middle challenge today, since I’ve taken two days off already.
At noon I’m heading to a friend’s house to work on my outline for Contracts. I plan on bringing a few snacks, so that I don’t end up eating too much or anything super unhealthy, since I definitely splurged a little last night.
I hope you all had a fabulous Friday night!
