A Much Needed Day Off

I decided to take the day off from studying to give my brain a break. I’m hoping to wake up tomorrow feeling ready to tackle Property Law for my last final on Thursday.

I also have a guest coming tomorrow and staying until Tuesday morning. I’m hoping I can still get some studying done while they are here.

I slept in this morning and wasn’t in the mood for a big breakfast, so I just had an apple, and a half oz of walnuts. It was shocking how long this light combination kept me satisfied for – chock it up to the combo of healthy fats and protein!

I spent the morning talking with Tyler and my mom on the phone, cleaning up the apartment a little, and just relaxing in front of the TV and computer.

Tyler and I decided to motivate each other to go to the gym. Before I left I had a little preworkout fuel: half a Poppy seed bagel (it was a Noah’s bagel that I had popped in the freezer from the last half dozen I got there) topped with half an oz of melted cheddar cheese.

Working out was rough, thanks exam week(s). I started off with a 27 minute run on the treadmill – I finished a  little over 3 miles. Then I went on the elliptical for 23 minutes, followed by 20 minutes on the bike going 4 miles. I was pretty well exhausted after that 70 minutes of cardio, but I had some errands to run. I stopped by Walgreens and Trader Joe’s on my way home to pick up a prescription and ingredients for tomorrow’s dinner, muffins for breakfast (I didn’t have much else that my guest would probably want to eat) and a few more snacks to last me until next Sunday when I fly to Michigan for my Winter break.

I spent just over $15 and got a vegetarian lasagna (for dinner tomorrow), some more Honey Whole Wheat Pretzel Sticks, a White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Clif Bar (I’ve never tried this flavor – how ludicrous!), some Blueberry Bran Muffins, and some Belgian Chocolates for dessert for tomorrow. Not too bad right? This is cutting into my budget for the rest of the month, but I’ll be bringing some food to MI with me – bars and things that travel easily, and I will need to have food here when I get back, so I’m not stressing about it.

After my errands I came home and noshed on the other half of the poppy seed bagel with a serving of Tribe 40 Spice Hummus – this was a yummy combo!

Dinner was an asian extravaganza! I had Trader Joe’s Chicken Gyoza (potstickers) with Gyoza Dipping Sauce, and steamed broccoli with 365 Organic Peanut Sauce.

After dinner I did  nothing for a little bit, then I popped in Sex and The City The Movie (this is my fall back movie!). I ate the rest of last night’s popcorn while watching and catching up on blogs.

My plan now is to watch Rain Man (I’ve never seen it before!) and eat my second evening snack of SweetTarts (I told myself that if I went to the gym, that I got to have some candy – hahaha), 1/3 bar Milka White Chocolate, and a serving of Honey Whole Wheat Pretzel Sticks – holy huge evening snack I know (I didn’t eat nearly enough earlier to compensate for my workout – gotta stay property fueled for those exams!)

Are there any movies that you find yourself watching when there is nothing else on or when you can’t decide on another movie to watch? Like I said above, my fall back movie is definitely Sex and The City The Movie – I’ve probably watched it 30 times this semester.

Enjoy the last day of your weekend, and if you’re taking exams still as I am – good luck and study hard!

I love the SATC movie too. I think that is my fall-back as well. I love the music in the intro. Hee hee.

You’ve had such a crazy week! You deserved a day off from studying! Good luck with your final exam!
