Wednesday Woot Woot

Halfway through the week! Woot woot!

You may remember my post from a week ago about Red Lobster.

One of my fabulous bloggie friends pointed something out that I had completely overlooked

Kim said: “That sounds like a fun evening with the other bloggers and chef! I wonder if they have actually started offering vegetarian food, with their new changes. That is why I never ate there before!”

As soon as I saw the comment I got online and looked through Red Lobster’s menu.

I was disappointed when I could only come up with 1 vegetarian meal – Macaroni and Cheese from the Kid’s Menu. There were vegetarian sides and a vegetarian appetizer, but nothing else.

I promptly emailed Chef Michael LaDuke to point this out and to ask if there were any plans to add vegetarian options to the menu. Chef Michael responded quickly, recognizing that it is something that he sees as a gap in their menu, and mentioning a few different possibilities that they are considering adding to the menu such as a grilled artichoke flatbread, a veggie pasta dish, and oven roasted vegetables.

I was really encouraged by the quick response from Chef Michael and from his recognition that it is something that is lacking in their menu. If you’re a vegetarian and looking to eat at Red Lobster, keep checking back, hopefully they will soon have some delicious vegetarian options on the menu. And any of you Red Lobster fans that like to eat vegetarian or have friends that are vegetarian, I would encourage you when you eat there to bring it up to your server or mention it to someone that you would be interested in vegetarian options. The squeeky wheel gets the grease right ; )

Now on to other things

I had a very summery dinner on Monday – pasta salad with artichokes, diced peppers, diced carrots, chickpeas, dried basil, sea, salt, and freshly ground pepper.

I picked up these La Croix Cran-Raspberry Sparkling Waters at Target on Sunday – they were on sale $2.50 for 8 cans! They are super refreshing and so summery!

Speaking of shopping, my cabinets and refrigerator are getting pretty darn empty – I can’t wait to do some shopping on Friday! Whole Foods here I come!

I’m still going strong on my workouts

Sunday: No More Trouble Zones & 15 mile bike ride in 70 minutes & my Daily Ab Routine

Monday: 3.5 mile run in 30:15 minutes & my Daily Ab Routine

Tuesday: No More Trouble Zones with 3 extra 5 minute cardio circuits mixed in & my Daily Ab Routine

Wednesday(Today): 3.5 mile run in 29:20 minutes, 4 circuits of No More Trouble Zones, and my Daily Ab Routine

My Daily Ab Routine consists of:

  • 2 sets of 25 Leg Lifts (each leg)
  • 2 sets of 25 Inner Leg Lifts (each leg)
  • 2 sets of 25 Crunches
  • 2 sets of 25 Reverse Crunches
  • 2 sets of 25 Hip Lifts (you may know these as pelvic thrusts) Check out this video to see what I mean – It’s the first movement the girl does, and I do them faster than in the video.

Well I apologize for the lack of pictures in this post – hopefully it wasn’t too boring!

And to make up for it, here are a few great giveaways!

Enjoy the rest of your week!

Yay, you are back to running!

Thank you for emailing the chef. I am happy to hear they are considering vegetarian options. Now I just wonder why they are not adding them. Guess we need more people to demand them!
