Hi! I’m Julia, the author of Jogging My Memory. I’m a 23 year old college graduate with a BA in Exercise Science. I live in Sacramento, CA where I’m a second year law student at University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law.

On July 24, 2010 I married the love of my life. Our wedding was everything we dreamed it would be.

I decided to start this blog after a month or two of following some other healthy living blogs. I wanted a way to update friends and family on my life as well as a way to share my love of exercise and food with others. Tyler and I put our heads together and came up with the name Jogging My Memory because it incorporated two aspects that we wanted to include in the blog/website: jogging or running/fitness, and memories.
I have developed a passion for exercise and health and encouraging others to be healthy, which is why I chose Exercise Science in undergrad (you can laugh at the huge disconnect between Exercise Science and law school-I do!). I love being active, especially running, bicycling, swimming, strength training, yoga, and hiking. I ran my first half marathon, the Sacramento Cowtown Half Marathon on October 4, 2009 and finished in 1:57:35.3, under my goal time of 2 hours. I am now training to run the 2010 Nike Women’s Marathon in San Francisco on October 17, which is also my 24th birthday.

As I mentioned, I also love food. Growing up I was able to try a lot of different foods and learn the difference between well prepared food and not so well prepared food. I was also able to eat at some very fine restaurants, which I will never forget. Unfortunately, I have never had a great relationship with food, and have struggled with my eating habits my entire life. I am slowly gaining a better understanding of what it takes to fuel my body and what foods I truly enjoy.
Feel free to ask any questions or leave comments, I love hearing from people!

Hi, Julia! I am still getting the hang of this blog thing, especially how to leave comments. Nice entry for Tuesday. Made me hungry for watermelon!
So you figured out how to comment! That watermelon was AMAZING! I bought another one the other day, hopefully it will be just as juicy and delicious, because I have no idea how you are supposed to pick watermelons.
Cute blog!
Hi Julia,
Boy the sweet potato recipe sounds yummy! I’ll have to try that one out for Meredith. Your father’s day entry was so sweet!!! Awwwww!
Sounds like your life is very full, now all you need is a kitty cat to make it complete
Love, Mo
